The Gentle Leader
Leader (Sarah's Pick for her two dogs!) Made of a soft nylon/cotton material, the Gentle Leader comes in two colors, tan and black. It fits like a
horse's harness- guiding dogs rather than jerking their neck. For those of you who can look beyond is muzzle-like appearance, the chin lead is a safe, effective, humane training tool that will give you a
leg up walking your dog and correcting negative behavior patterns. Another plus? The Gentle Leader demands minimal physical strength so nearly everyone can use it-kids too! $16 all sizes, comes
with booklet

Good Dog Collar
Sarah's latest find! A great new teaching collar, less intense than the original metal prong, the plastic clasps gently simulate a scruff shake when your dog pulls or misbehaves. A quick tug and a calm verbal discouragement are all that are needed to communicate disapproval...eventually the quick tug becomes obsolete and off leash control is gained.

No-Pull Harness
Sound to good to be true? Though I don't often recommend harness for training, they're great for young puppies, small breeds and for older
dogs. I've tried many types and have found this to be the most effective.

Check Chain
¾ flat nylon, ¼ chain this collar is a great teaching tool for calm dogs who need a gentle reminder to pay attention. As always: it's the sound of
the collar not the restraint that teaches your dog to stay focused.

Fitting Your Chain Collar:
To size your dog for this collar measure the width of your dogs neck just
behind his ears. Add two inches to this measurement and order that length,
e.g. Neck Measures: 16" -16 +2=18". If your dog's head is extra large,
measure the size at the crown and add 2" for the final size.
When fit properly the collar should fit over your dog's head snugly, with no more than 2 inches of slack
resting on the neck.
|
To place the collar on your dog properly, loop it together and create the letter "P". Facing your dog slip it over their head and bring them to your left
side. The collar should look like this.
